Terrorize telemarketer

Ways to Terrorize a Telemarketer

1. Tell them to talk VERY SLOWLY, because you want to write EVERY WORD down.

2. Insist that the caller is really your buddy Leon, playing a joke. "Come on Leon, cut it out! Seriously, Leon, how's your momma?"

3. Tell the telemarketer you are busy at the moment and ask them if they will give you their HOME phone number so you can call them back. When the telemarketer explains that they cannot give out their HOME number, you say "I guess you don't want anyone bothering you at home, right?" The telemarketer will agree and you say, "Now you know how I feel!"

4. After the telemarketer gives their spiel, ask him/her to marry you. When they get all flustered, tell them that you could not just give your credit card number to a complete stranger.

5. Tell the telemarketer you are on "home incarceration" and ask if they could bring you a case of beer and some chips.

6. If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money.

7. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up for the Family and Friends plan, reply, in as SINISTER a voice as you can, "I don't have any friends... would you be my friend?"

8. Cry out in surprise, "Judy! Is that you? Oh my God! Judy, how have you been?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few brief moments of pause as she tries to figure out where the hell she could know you from.

9. If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Company, ask them to spell their name. Then ask them to spell the company name. Then ask them where it is located. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary.

10. When they ask "How are you today?" Tell them! "I'm so glad you asked because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems; my arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died..."

I am sorry. I don't think we should terrorise telemarketeers. They are only trying to earn a living making calls for the people who run the company. They are given a script to memorise and then given targets and deadlines. They are already under pressure. The real culprits are the people - the bosses who run these enterprises. My advice is just politely tell these people u are not interested and put down the phone. Don't give them any reasons.... If u are going to spend time talking to them u are going to end up paying more for your phone bills....
Just remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. No one will want to invite u over and give u a gift for nothing. The final objective is to entice u to sign up (and pay) for something u may not want. So beware...

Dear all victims of LGM,

I sincerely apologise to all the couples that I had cold called while I was an employee of the telemarketing firm Expo Management which was hired by Leisure Group Marketing to do their dirty work.
My reason for posting this is to update on the everchanging scams that LGM and its partner in scams Expo Management so everyone can be aware of the threat that these companies pose to all of us.
So as a telemarketer my job was to cold call ppl and tell them that they have 'won' a complimentary $1200 flight discount voucher and send them an 'official email' as an official letter of offer is needed to attend the event at Ngee Ann City tower B 16-01.
Even though I have worked for them for a total of only 3 days I berate myself for not wising up to their schemes. The fact was I managed to get 2 couples to come to their offices in Ngee Ann city Tower B 16-01 and one of the couples wanted me to give the "letter of offer" to them personally.
So I went down to give them the letter but I could not find them. So I decided to go up to the offices at the 16th floor where I found a whole crowd of young families/couples waiting at the offices named Leisure Group Marketing. Feeling suspicious as I was told by my employer in Expo Management Jonathan Tan that we were representing Leisure Group Travel Services, I went home and googled Leisure Group Marketing and I found all those messages/posts of ppl being cheated and I felt really guilty and cheated at the same time. I really regret being a telemarketer for such a scam job even if it was only for 3 days.
So to everyone out there this Leisure Group Marketing uses a side firm called Expo Management and their numbers are 62234846 and 97924371. If you recognise these numbers do not hesitate to back out of whatever bogus deal they are offering you.
Right now they are calling people with offers of a free $1200 flight discount voucher $150 spa voucher and a free digital camera/mp3 player if you are willing to come down at 4pm to that scam office at Ngee Ann Tower B 16-01. So if that sounds familiar, drop the offer like a hot potato folks coz the deal stinks.

Yours sincerely,
A former duped telemarketer (if only for 3 days)
