I have tried very hard to stay out of this. Really I have. I have tried to stay out of this because I have been having this discussion in my store a lot lately. I had decided not to share my views on this subject because it was obvious that they would not be heard or treated with respect. However, that has not been happening here.

I have no problem with difficult subjects being talked about as long as we treat eachother with respect. But to dismiss opinions outright it wrong and has no place on this board.

The death penalty is an issue that leaves me conflicted at best and sick to my stomach at worst. I hate it that the law sometimes is not perfect. I hate it that Tim Mcveigh's family lost their son. But I hate what he did more and I think his punishment fit his crime. As far as whether or not others were involved, if there would have been a way he could have saved his own sorry ass by giving up a name you can bet he would have. (and yes, I have a little anger towards the man) I am not a barbarian, not blood thirsty and not a killer. I AM human and I feel the pain of others. I sat here and cried today as they showed footage from the original bombing. It still hurts to see it. I did not cry for him.

does the law sometimes make mistakes? Yes. Is there a beter system anywhere in the world? Maybe, maybe not. Are we going to solve it today? No.

Is it polite to dismiss the opinions of others on this board when youstart a discussion and invite debate? NO!

Be nice...be polite...carry on....
