Yes. You have either not read or not understood a lot of what I've said.

I'm trying to remain of the opinion you're not doing this maliciously, but it's difficult. About the third time I say "blue" and am quoted saying "red", I give up trying to get across "blue". Might say I'm tired of getting blue in the face.

For instance, I've said in posts here that I don't think the justice system here works right. Somehow, that seems to mean to y'all that I'm a dyed-in-the-wool loyalist. I'm not going to argue the point anymore, since I'm obviously wasting my time.

>Vivien, has never referred to anyone on this board as

So color me bloodthirsty. Being refered to as barbaric gets my dander up. I tend to use words with the full knowledge of what they mean, as opposed to what the current popular trend has made them.

For instance. Barbaric: b: possessing or characteristic of a cultural level more complex than primitive savagery but less sophisticated than advanced civilization. 2 a. marked by a lack of restraint : WILD b. having a bizarre, primitive, or unsophisticated quality. Barbarian: 1: of or relating to a land, culture, or people alien and usually believed to be inferior to one's own.

You'll notice it doesn't say anything about funny actors dancing about in furs and bone jewelry. Nothing cute and innocuous. Not so much about innocent societies of ignorants. More about being inferior and savage. Bloodthirsty and dangerous.

SOME people, even amoung us uncultured Americans, find it somewhat rude to refer to an entire people like that - even as a popular catch phrase that has lost its meaning with the masses. If I were to call someone a name like that, I would hope I wouldn't act all innocent and hurt that they could possibly take offense. Same as if I called someone an idiot (as Vivien has done to a couple of people who disagreed with her). If I were to call someone an idiot and then get all hurt about their reaction, I would hope you'd boot me in the butt for it.

I thought it was one of those icky AMERICAN things to not take responsibility for our actions.

For the record, I consider EVERY culture in the world as being uncivilized from the view of people NOT OF THAT CULTURE. But I'm generally too polite to point out on a public forum how little I might think of someone because they're from another country and have different beliefs. If they want to DEBATE those beliefs with me, fine. If they want to beat me over the head with their beliefs thinking they'll civilize me that way, they're going to be wasting their time.
