if your ankles are strong enough and you're placed correctly and have all the nitty gritty basics down then you should be ready. the only problem is you've been dancing only one year and i've been dancing for over ten and i learn new things all the time. ask your teacher and get their opinion. if they say you are ready get ready for blisters!
