Subject: Pointe stories

Well, on Ballet~Your pointe? you asked about first time pointe stories. I will try to tell about my experiences but nothing to exciting happened. I got my shoes at Dance N' Tee's, and they have everything there. We walked in and there were a TON of leotards and shoes and t-shorits and bags and hair excessories and stuff. So we go and sit down. There was another girl there, about my age, trying on shoes. So the woman comes out and has about 4 pairs of shoes. She had me try them on, just to approximate the size of the shoe that I would need. So I tried on several types of shoes, Coppelia II's, Freeds, Blochs, all sorts. I tried gel pads and lamb's wool pads. They had a wooded-floor section and a barre w/a mirror. They had me go up, and some of the shoes were very comfortable, while other's were tight and uncomfortable. I finally decided on the Freed Studios, but the Coppelia II's came in close second. I loved trying on the pointe shoes, and pointe is lots of fun. Good luck!

~Nora
