My favourite band

I actually don’t have a favourite band; I consider myself very ecletic when it comes to music, and I see myself “falling in love” with different bands and singers every now and then. Lately, I’ve been listening a lot of French music – a particular singer called Camille, but unfortunatelly I couldn’t find anything about her. I have also been listening a lot of Cake, an American band which I couldn’t find much information about. I decided then to tell a little bit about a band I’ve been fond of since the mid 90’s: The Dave Matthews Band.

They are a group of 5 men who play a very unique kind of music: rock and roll, mixed with folk music and jazz. Well, at least that’s how I can describe it. The band is originally from Virginia, but the lead singer, Dave Matthews, was born in South Africa and brought up in England. The reason why I find DMB to be such a special band, is because of the originality of the group. Besides a conventional bass, guitar and drumms set, they also count on the violin and brass instruments, which adds a special touch to their music. They are very famous and popular in North America; unfortunatelly they haven’t reached such success in Brazil. To find out more about them, go to www.davematthewsband.com .
