Subject: Task 9

My favorite band is U2. A small, but famous and outstanding band, formed by only 4 people: Lead singer: Bono (Paul Hewson); Guitar: The Edge ( Dave Evans); Bass Guitar: Adam Clayton; Drums: (Larry Mullen).
U2 first started in Dublin, Ireland where all of them (members of the band ) came from. They gathered around 1978, and from that date they haven’t stopped playing.
Besides being the best band in the entire world, U2 has also supported and helped several organizations such as: Greenpeace, War Child and many others.
A great curiosity about them is that the eminent writer Salman Rushdie has a book, actually a rock and roll storyline and he wrote the lyrics to a song he titled “ The Ground Beneath Her Feet” He gave the lyrics to Bono and asked him to put the words to music. The band did and that song appears on the movies soundtracks, as well as some versions of All that you can’t leave behind which is one of my favorites.
No wonder All that you can’t leave behind songs were nominated for Grammy Awards in three consecutive years 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Althoug I love the band, I have a special feeling towards Bono, actually I love him! He was born on the 10th of May, 1960 in Dublin. He is 5'8". He was a very outgoing person in high school. Bono, unfortunately, married a high school girlfriend named Alison Stewart on August 21 1982. They have two daughters, Jordan and Memphis Eve. He also has two German Shepards named Fanny and Angel. His nick name Bono Vox means in latin good voice, but to me means the best and sexiest voice ever existed in this life.
