I don't have a favorite singer or band; nevertheless I have chosen Chris De Burgh because I just love one of his songs, which is Lady in Red.

Chris De Burgh was born in Argentina in 1948, but his parents were British. During his childhood he lived in many countries, such as Nigeria, Zaire and Ireland, where he still lives.

Before becoming a singer, Chris graduated in English and French at Trinity College, Dublin. After that, he started singing in places such as a hamburger restaurant and a hairdresser's shop.

Although he had been singing since the 70s, his big hit came with Lady in Red that became a great success in the late 80s. Chris performed more than 3000 times, one of them in Brazil, where Chris' debut single, 'Flying', remained at No. 1 for 17 weeks.

Besides that, Chris was the only international artist to be invited to perform at the historic public celebrations marking the re-unification of East and West in 1990 and he has also been presented with many awards.

Among Chris lots of fans, some famous ones are the late Princess of Wales, Boris Yeltsin and Helmut Kohl. He is also enthusiastic about sports, such as Formula 1, golf and football, he cheers for Liverpool FC.

One interesting thing I have found out about Chris is that he composed a song called Brazil that talks about our Carnaval and women. Also, he has a Spanish version of the song Lady in Red, that is La Dama De Ayer, but I haven't listened to it yet. In fact, I got more interested about this singer after researching about his life.
