Reading 12 - "The Piano"
ADA (VO - Scs 2 to 7)
The voice you hear is not my
speaking voice, but my mind's
voice.

I have not spoken since I was
six years old. No one knows
why, not even me. My father
says it is a dark talent and
the day I take it into my head
to stop breathing will be my
last.

Sc 57 INT BAINES' HUT DAY Sc 57

ADA is quick to remove a used plate and cup left on top of the piano.

BAINES is sitting next to the window, his elbow on the sill, his head
turned away.

BAINES
Lift your skirt,

ADA stops playing. She turns to him. Thinks about it then slowly lifts
her skirt a little to show her boots.

Lift it higher.

ADA pulls the skirt up fractionally so the top other boots are
exposed.

BAINIES nods ADA starts to play again, not so confidently as before.

BAINES moves close, he goes down on his knees to watch her feet on the
pedals.

BAINES
Higher.

ADA doesn't hear.
Lift it higher.

She stops and lifts her skirt to her knees. She looks at BAINES with
ill-disguised contempt. BAINES is enthralled with her legs, or what he
can now see of them. He moves back to watch them from behind. He's
lying on the ground, head propped on his arm. ADA's slim stockinged
calves work the pedals, one of the stockings has a small hole through
which her white skins shows


Writing 12- Movies

I will recommend the movie “Shindler's List” a hystorical movie that tells a lot about making difference in this world. It has great actors and also a great topic. Without worry in give the audience a moral lesson it makes us reflet about our existence, how we are going to help the world become a better place, the human mind, what is goodness and badness and how relative it can be, and also how politicians can make something evil become politicaly right and so, how the image is relevant nowdays when propaganda seems to be the most important thing. I wont recommend the movie “Independence Day” because it is silly and empty. The world is in dangerous but only the USA seems to be the whole world, it has no lesson and the end is the worst – the American President by himself does what the whole army couldn’t do – saves the world.
