The text I chose was from a site about ice-cream. And guess what, the text was about the history of ice-cream. It says that they have 2 theories about the first appearence of ice-cream. The first one is that the first frozen dessert was credited to Emperor Nero of Rome. It was a mixture of snow and nectar, fruit pulp and honey. Another theory is Marco Polo, brought with him to Europe from the Far East recipes for water ices....said to be used in Asia for thousands of years.Another interesting thing I noticed is that the first ice cream parlor in America opened in New York City in 1776. I think that everybody enjoys ice-cream and for the summer is a good idea to go out and have some of it in a Sunday afternoon. This web site is a good one with a lots of information about this subject. I would recommend it for ice-cream lovers... They have also a collection of recipes if you enjoy cooking. The web site is www.makeicecream.com
