I also have mixed feelings about it... I agree with the fact that drug addicts need to seek treatment and should receive a different sentence (as long as they are not dealing drugs). Besides, they shouldn't be considred criminals. I also agree that the money saved on this prisons could be spent in other areas. However, there is the risk that one might claim the treatment hasn't worked and the worst risk, the offenders going to prison for secondary charges pressed against them.
