The text: Doctor Found Guilty of Elder Abuse

Summary: Doctor Chin was found guilty of elder abuse because he did not prescribe enough painkillers to his 85-year-old terminal cancer patient, Willian Bergman. Bergam's family claimed that such a doctor wasn't able to stop the suffering from their father which made him have a painful death. They believed Doctor Chin was doing the right thing and did not ask for extra medication. Bergam's family sued Doctor Chin for elder abuse because California does not provide any award for pain and suffering. The family was awarded $250.000.
