Subject: Task 3

Activity 1
The text I choose was “Computers and Girls”, that is a text talking about the affinity of girls with computers and how different is the relation of girls with computer use in relation to boys. Girls are less interested on computers than boys, they use it much less than boys and they don’t like computers games because they think it very boring.

I would recommend this site firstly because the student can choose the text according to the subjects he/she likes. Secondly, there are exercises related to vocabulary, given explanations in English and considering the context it has been using. The exercises to test text comprehension are very objective and treats exactly information reader must understand. The site is really good and exercises very well elaborated.

Activity 2
For my introductory message to my keypal I would introduce myself, given some information about me, my course, the purpose of exchanging e-mails with someone from abroad and information of Brazil – culture, cities, places, curiosities, etc. The e-mail I elaborated follows bellow:

Dear Fellow

My name is Bianca and I’m a Letters student from Brazil. I’m 25 years old and I will conclude my course this year. The reason I’m exchanging e-mails is because I’m doing an online course in English and I would like to learn more about your language, your country and, of course, you.
I live in a tropical country in South America. It is a very beautiful country, with wonderful beaches and beautiful and gentle people. Probably you have heard about Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, Fernando de Noronha etc. Those are famous cities in here.
In our country there are also one of the biggest forest in the world, called Floresta Amazônica. It is a very big forest with rare kinds of animals and plants.
It will be an amazing experience to talk with you and learn a bit more about you and your country.
