1. I chose the text "Los Angeles Area Gets a New Spider"

2. The text is about the discovery of a Brown Widow spider in Los Angeles. The spider, which is rare in Los Angeles area and it is originally from Africa, was found by a 4th-grade student . The spider belongs to the widow species, from which the Black Widow is the most famous and aggressive one. The spider was found with an egg sac and it was inside a rolled-up leaf of a plant on the school grounds. The text ends up advising people to look for medical assistance if bitten by any of the widow species spider.
