I chose an article about spiders called: “Tropical ‘Brown Widow’ Spider, New to Los Angeles Captured In Torrance; On Display at Museum”. I chose it because it was announced as ‘new’, but actually the text is not so interesting. It discusses about specie of spider ‘Brown Widow’ found in California. The text presents an explanation on the specie and how it was found in Los Angeles since it is rare it to happen there, it probably belongs to Africa. The spider was found by a 4th-grade student and brought to a museum. The text also contains some advices on how to proceed in this situation.
At the bottom of the text you will find a quiz. It is easy but not too boring to do. I got 14/15.
The site, I guess, is all about animal life, which makes it interesting to access, but the texts could not be interesting enough if you are too much demanding. Anyway it is a good option to practice your reading and check your knowledge on animal life.
