Subject: Writing I

Although I've posted my first tasks on our discussion list last week, I decided to post them in our forum as well. So, people who haven't read them will have the oportunity do do so.

A) Writing task - Introducing myself

My name is Thiago and I’m 24 years old. I’m average height and very thin. I have brown eyes and black hair, but I used to be blond, which is quite interesting, because my beard and moustache are red, and when I let them grow people usually say, “How can you have so black hair and red beard and moustache? Do you dye them? I can’t believe it!”. That’s because they don’t know how my hair used to be when I was a kid.
Concerning my personality, I think I’m very sociable and funny. However, most of the time I’m very responsible with things I have to do and people think I’m quite serious, but I’m not! I love to have fun and hang out with my friends, who are few, by the way, but they are true and that’s why I love them.
I’m not sure about my future. This is my eighth semester at Letras (I’m taking the teaching degree) and I haven’t decided on what to do after the graduation. Maybe I’ll take a bachelor’s degree, or even study for my Master’s in Literature (Minorities Literature) or Sociolinguistics. The problem (or maybe advantage, I don’t know) is that I love studying both: language and literature. One thing is certain: I want to live abroad for a couple of years, to practice the language and be in contact with different people and places.
I’m from BH. One of my colleagues has mentioned that it is the perfect place to live, because it’s not quite small or big. Although I agree that this is not a very small or very large city, I would prefer to live in one of the extremes: or in a very small or in a very large place. So, I think I’ll not live in BH forever.
My parents are ok, and so are my two brothers. My sister died when I was 16. I don’t have many problems with my family, but I don’t like to talk about it very much. We are all completely different from one another. If you imagine a star with five distant points, then you can picture each one of us as each of these points.
In my free time I like to go out with my friends, or even stay at home, which is something I haven’t done lately. I also like to watch TV, especially sitcoms, and read books.
I think that’s me!!!
