I am Divorced now for 5 years from an abusive relationship I stay with him for 17 years my heart goes out to your friend I have been in the hospital more them 3 time I was afraid he would kill me if I told anyone I tried leaving him many times. I had know friends or family to help I had to do most of it on my own it hasn't been easy your friend is lucky to have you. He has token a gun to my head and knives he would beat me and put me down he was very controlling. I have scares from it the worst scare that will never go away is the memories but I have to move on because of my kids. I would never go back with him it's not worth it I lost a house and almost all of my thing I have been homeless that was almost 4 years ago now I am on housing. He started giving me money for child support a couple months ago Now he got hurt at work and they laid him off my kids have gone without birthdays and Christmas. I do go to food banks when I need to I don't regret losing my house and some of my stuff and being homeless as long as me and my kids are happy that what counts. Being with someone that is abuse is unhealthy I hope she gets the help she needs for her and her children .. God Bless
