Although I lived in that basement for three years I never saw anyone go into the mechanical room. There was a metal floor plate by the back door (outside was the dumpster) I once watched as some enterprising P-Tenners (rich G?)opened it up and climbed down. It was a crawl space with pipes.
There was a crappy TV in the RECreation room. We all gathered to watch the draft lottery. No cable in those days, the reception was terrible. The "kitchen area" was open... the door came later 72? when P10 had an alternative meal ticket option. I stuck with cheeseburgers.

Remember the computer terminal in the phone area? In 69 you could logon to a system similar to UNIX. It was gone by 70. I think the target of Luddite revolutionaries.
