I remember Charlotte Lettuce?) the nationally known runner, as being the HR in 1973 or 1974, followed the next year by Jerry Jacobs. I am not entirely sure of the dates, they may be a year or two older than quoted. Parenthetically, Jerry and I had both purchased, and restored 1966 Volvo P-1800's during those years-the last I heard,(circa 1996)Jerry still owned his, out in California. I sold mine when I joined the Peace Corps.
A controversy erupted during Jerry's tenure that ended in him resigning halfway through the year. For the remainder of that academic year, the HR position was filled jointly by a committee of P10 "Corridor Counselors" including myself, Judy Schuster, John Shibley, and MaryAnn Boyle.
Judy and I went on to be Summer Orientation Recruiters for P10 and "The Inquiry Program" that year also. I and Paul Richardson edited "Genesis" the P-10 newsletter for two years before it died for lack of interest. I remember also that Eugene Rochow and myself were Southwest Assembly Reps for a while. Given the milieu, we were quite definitely minority candidates, and were treated as such by the rest of SouthWest.
Charles Adams never lived in the building. Dave Hoffman did, 2nd floor, right beside the painting. We lived above him in the 332-334 "Balcony Suite".
Does anyone have a copy of the painting I did on the wall of 332, the Zap Comics "flaming eyeball running up the stairs?" I last saw it many years ago during a quick visit, and was very upset to discover that some unknown jerk had signed the painting with his name. As of the last P10 reunion, it had been painted over with the university standard puke-green wall paint-as had the courtyard and most lounges. Anyone remember "TV Man?"
After 28 years of moving around (including 8 years in the West Indies) I am now living back in the valley, along with Susan Miller, my loving wife of 28 years, another P10 resident-in fact, we first met at a Project 10 "Boogie".
I'd really enjoy hearing from old friends. . .
Isn't it time for yet another Project 10 reunion?????
