yup I did that in spring of '79, we stopped about half way and tried to lift the manhole cover to figure where we were but couldn't get it open, later we realized it was right in the middle of the main street so it was probably good we didn't open it, there was graffiti in there and we could smell refer, so I think it was frequented by students, the story we heard that someone made it to campus pond thru a small side tunnel, did u ever do any caving? we went to a place off route 2 I think it was called Chicago because someone had spraypainted that in the room at the bottom, to get in that room u had to lay on your back and wriggle thru 2 huge boulders, once we went with a guy who did a hit of acid and when he got to that point he started to freak out, making a grunting like "mweep mweep" noise, fortunately people were already in Chicago and grabbed him by the legs and pulled him thru!
