Dear Robb,

I read you article about Pierpont. And I can certainly relate to the "high" times. In fact, I had a friend who was convinced he could fly and jumped from the top of John Adams to prove it! He spent his last earthly moments as part of the roof of Pierpont!

Something else that might be of interest to you is that Mildred Pierpont was the mother of famed financier J. Pierpont Morgan and was one of the early benefactresses of the University of Mass, then called Stockbridge School of Agriculture. As you probably know J.P.'s father, Phineas J. Morgan had his roots right here in western Mass and was a relative of the Morgan's of West Springfield and of course the world famous Morgan Horse.

Many people referred to him as a horse's ass but though he did have a prominent jaw and was rather long in the teeth I don't think he was a blood relative of the horse, of course not, that's ridiculous. Recall that U-Mass got it's start as one of the Morrill Land Grant Colleges and that there is currently a horse farm in the vicinity not to mention the buffalo currently residing in Hadley and other rustic irrelevancies. I believe there is also a Horseshoe Lane in Amherst and a rather large pile of horse dung that is dished out to student's there as part of their daily educational diet, but it is never diminished! (What were those stables Hercules had to clean?)

Now, if you were doing acid and got lost in a maze it t'aint nobody's business but your own. And I can see you waxing nostalgic about this time in your past but my friend, get thee to a nunnery, this world has too many temptations and is all sturm and "dung" signifying nothing. Thanks for the terrifying walk back into realm of mindless drivel! Another fine example of the irrelevany brought on by the miracle of technology in the 21st century. I'll add this to that!

Sinsilly yours,

Euphonius X. Buttocks

U-Mass Lunatic Society

PS. Can you guess what the X in my middle name stands for?
