Subject: what does Paulie know about Mouse's father

Hi I saw the movie some days ago and I think it is amazing, but I've got a question: why does Paulie think that Mouse hates her father ? I thought Mouse and her father had a good relationship.

When the three girls are in their room, writing letters, Mary says that she thinks her step-mother is jealous because Mary and her father have such a good relationship. So why should Mouse hate her father and how does Paulie know about him ?

I think, IÄll watch the movie again tomorrow and ask you, if I've got more questions.
