Been a long time, but I'm glad you made the point even further! The council needs to hear this from its Chief, but he's on the side of keeping his job, despite the danger to his subordinates. It's a sad day in the fire service when those who know, don't speak up. But God forbid, will be the first to say some bs words, and hand your family a flag. I feel for the people of the city of Newburgh, and the fire department. But I would be just like the leadership in the city if I didn't say this... Someone is going to die, or get seriously hurt, not because the job is inherently dangerous, but because of ignorance, and contempt of the fire department. Feeling they don't really work, for whatever reasons. It's a shame, and I'm glad I don't work for the city of Newburgh. This post won't make the light of day, but to those who read this and know, I hope someone stands on business, and let the city know how unfair they are, and how much in danger their actions, put its residents, and employees.
