Subject: Cook Islands News correction

Dear Sir,

There are two errors in stories sent out today concerning the Cook Islands media industry and Cook Islands News in particular.

The first is a statement in 4360 COOK IS: Pitt media group demands apology from George

In this you say "The Cook Islands News also apparently backed down .."
This is incorrect, we have not backed down from any claim of ours.
The claim to which you are referring was made by the Cook Islands government communications officer, Mr Cameron Scott, and published by us as a govmedia release with a govmedia byline.
Cook Islands News subsequently investigated the claim and found it to be incorrrect and we published that under the byline of our editor Mr Moana Moeka'a.

The second error occurs in the story Title -- 4361 REGION: Politicians target Pacific media for regulation (and its subsequent correction)

In this you say: "The Cook Islands News, in an editorial this month .." This is incorrect. We have published no such editorial, it is from one of Mr Pitt's papers.
