AHEM... FYI: THE HEADLINE OF THE LUSA REPORT IS, TO PUT IT MILDLY, POOR JOURNALISM.
JULIAN KING WAS DETAINED FOR 48 HOURS, NOT 30 DAYS
(FROM 6 MAY TO 8TH)
ALTHOUGH THE PROSECUTION ASKED FOR HIS DETENTION FOR ONE MONTH (30 DAYS)
DURING A HEARING ON WED 12 MAY, THE JUDGE SAW NO NEED FOR THAT.
KING REMAINS FREE DURING THE INVESTIGATION OF HIS CASE, BUT MUST REPORT TO THE DILI POLICE TWICE WEEKLY. HE HAS NOT BEEN "GIVEN 48 HOURS TO LEAVE EAST TIMOR."
