The Peter Jackson - Lord of the Rings trilogy
is in fact Unlike all others.
No others have been made simultaneously
-so none achieved these films' level of
consistency in quality and artistic energy.

Therefore, noting the rarity of such a cinematic achievement
I'm left wondering how the book could have got a better treatment.
Who would've done it?
Scorsese ? Jane Campion ?
Surely not Tim Burton...
Jackson made it beautiful and romantic.
What other film or set of films
can you point to that it would or should have been like?
