I have seen a couple of episodes, and you are right... it is quite interesting. I am surprised it did not dissuade you from working for an airline... ;)

I am a railroad ticket agent, and have lived many of those situations. Naturally, I have also witnessed some too. My heart goes out to those poor employees.

Are you aiming to work as a flight attendant, or at the airport as a ticket or gate agent??

Dissuade me? Nah. I look at it as a challenge. When I worked for America West, we were fully cross utilized, which meant I worked the gates, ticket counter, in-flight, ramp, etc... With Southwest (if I get hired), I'd only be in-flight.
And lemme tell ya, those ticket and gate agents are WAY underpaid for what their job entails (as I'm sure you can attest to Pierre).

BTW, on the show last night, a gate agent had to deny boarding to a man because of his body odor, which I had to do once. But she handled it very nicely including getting the man some Southwest airlines clothing to wear after he washed up.

Is there a smellometer device?

"Excuse me sir, but you just pegged the smellometer..."

Nah, but when they saunter up to the gate mimicking Pigpen from the Charlie Brown comics, it's time to make a judgment call. :-)
