Subject: No responses necessary, just wanted to brag a bit

When I was in Georgia, before my Daddy passed, my whole family (all 21 of us) went to downtown Atlanta to ride The Pink Pig. It's some sort of deranged tradition that my family has concocted, and we, being the stubborn sort, hold true to it every opportunity we get. I have pictures of my older brother Chip doing the "Queen Elizabeth wave" whilst passing by the toddlers who were waiting patiently to ride. His other hand was firmly grasping the pigs ear, because Lord knows, this beast probably topped out at 1/4 M.P.H. Upon the second go-around, he had both hands sticking straight up in the air, so as to give the impression of a wild ride. Myself, being in the butt of the pig, was crossing my legs to keep from peeing.
So that's Chip.
Then we have my other brother Matthew, the baby of the bunch.
After leaving the Pig of Pinkness, and a brief tour of Underground Atlanta, we cruised by Georgia State where Matt graduated from. His girlfriend (now fiancee'... he wanted my Daddy to know) Adena still had her keys to the music building. She suggested Matt stop by to see if her key card and keys still worked. They did.
Mama, Matt, Adena and myself proceeded to trudge downstairs at GS to check out where they used to gain knowledge. Check room one, cool. Lockers, sheet music, and some funky assed musical saw in the corner. Room two, more unidentifiable things in the room. Room three. A marimba with four perfect mallets, complete with sheet music. Adena and my Mama had wandered off to God knows where, so Matthew casually says "This is a good piece" and starts to play. He's got these flippin' mallets wedged between his fingers and he's playing like Roberto Benigni after an all-night espresso bender at Starbucks.
He's not even looking at the sheet music, only for glancing, and is playin' the hell out of this marimba. I was so proud that tears were streaming down my cheeks. I'm not sure if Matthew even noticed or not, but it doesn't matter.
The fact that I have someone in my gene pool that is so musically talented, makes me incredibly happy. Hell, if someone hands me two spoons, I'm ready to whip up a bowl of pasta, not PLAY the damned things! And the musical saw? I could surely cut lumber with that, but play it? Yea, right!

The musically gifted ones are few and far between, and I truly wish that I were among them.
((((My brothers)))) Count me in as one proud sister. :-)

Thank you very much, Rose. BTW, would you mind dropping me a line as I'd like to write to you? I dumped all my old contacts from my email and don't have yours. I hope this post finds you and yours well and happy.
