It's pretty funny the memories I have from the park.
Scott S is my older brother we also have an older sister named Missy. When I was young and I mean young I used to play in the park (ready for this! NO Sh_ ) I was 5 years old, Stanley and Rats would keep an eye on me while I was playing as a favor to my mother. I would also help the guy how clean up in the park, he was a maintenance worker. I'd help him sweep up the broken glass on the handball courts and by the chess tables. Again though I was a little runt back then 5-6 years old(I was born in '71, not to make you guys feel old). Some of you guy have to remember us. If you walk through the whole in the fence on the basketball courts onto E55th our house was right across the street. We were sitting on our front porch when the crowd chased Mike Olsen out of the park onto 55th and down to Ave H. As my brother said we moved out in '84 we have found some old friend on Facebook and Myspace but not that many. I also remember a guy we can "Meats" or "Meaty" does that ring a bell? Any ever by fireworks from Bart Silverman? After very 4th of July we would scour the park for leftover firecrackers. I could go on and on but I won't
