The date has been set for our 47th annual Miss Georgia Sweet Potato pageant. It will be on October the 13th. We are working on our new website and you will be able to get your application from it. We are making some changes that will now include interview for our petite division. I feel this will help this division when they move up to the teen division. We will be offering discounts and other things as well for this coming pageant.We are getting closer and closer for are 50th year. Keep looking for upcoming offers. I just wanted to let Mrs. Mary know that Katlyn really enjoyed the pageant last Sat. she can't wait to do it again next year. As a mom I wanted to say that I also enjoyed myself. After all the Jr Miss Contestants had done there walk a good group of them returned downstairs to the dressing room. While they were downstairs they all sat around in a group and talked, played silly games and told riddles. They all seemed to really enjoy each others company (even some of the Teen Miss Contestants were in the group) Even though Katlyn did not place in the pageant it was okay because she made a new friend or two and seeing all of those girls downstairs is what made that pageant so great. That is what pageants should be about. It shouldn't be about winning only!!! Yes, everyone of us wants our daughter to win, but that should not be the only thing we care about. We need to learn that when we show or tales at a pageant because our child did not win we are taking away from someone elses child that did win. We should also remember the example that we as parents are supposed to setting for our childern. I think that if every parent would have seen the way these girls were acting at this pageant they would have learned a valuable lesson. Each of these girls wanted to win and they each stated that but they had fun together and that is what is important. All of our daughters are winners with or without a crown on their heads and those girls proved that on Sat. night. So thank you to all of the girls for making that pageant what it was. Mrs Jessica

Congratulations to all the girls who were crowned last night at the Miss Georgia Cotton.Our Baby Miss Irwin County
Cadence Allen won Baby Miss Cotton and a former Sweet potato queen Makayla Lindsey was crowned Jr. Miss Georgia Cotton. Our Petite Miss Irwin County and Petite Miss Sweet Potato Queen, Shannon Day was first runner up in the Jr. Miss last night. Our Sweet potato hospitality Queen, Sydnee Tyson won prettiest smile in her division. Miss Ansley Thompkins won in that division and is also the Georgia Charisma Queen. Im not sure who won the other divisions. Way to go girls.

The 2007 Miss Berrien County Pageant, an official preliminary to the 12th Annual Miss Dogwood State Scholarship Pageant, will be held Saturday, January 13th at 6pm at the Nashville Middle School in Nashville, GA. Ruth’s Cottage provides a 12 bed confidential safe shelter to victims and their children in need of emergency residential services. Programs fro children and adults are centered around safety planning, enhancing life skills, building self esteem, improving anger and stress management and building communication skills. They serve the five-county region of Tift, Turner, Worth, Ben Hill and Irwin. Since opened they have sheltered over 219 women and 288 children. They have handled over 2200 crisis calls and served over 3500 woman and children in some capacity.


Patticake House is a subsidiary of Ruth’s Cottage and we are adding them this year’s pageant. It focus’ more toward the children of abuse.

Patticake House Mission Statement:

To provide a child-friendly facility where professionals work together as a team to protect and treat child abuse victims while holding offenders accountable.

Additionally, The Patticake House is a safe, child-friendly location for the evaluation of allegations of child physical and sexual abuse. We maintain focus on the needs of the child and held to ensure that systems designed to protect children are able to do so effectively.

Applications are ready for our 6th annual Miss Spirit of Christmas. This is the pageant we do to benefit our area nursing home patients. All Queens will help us give them a christmas party and hand out gifts to them we buy from the money from the pageant. We will crown seven Miss Spirit of Christmas Queens, seven Miss Christmas Angels and one grand Angel Queen. Our christmas angel queens will be our peoples choice. The 3rd Annual Miss Christmas Wonderland Pageant to be held Friday, October 27th at the Berrien Middle School, will continue taking applications through next Tuesday, October 24th!! This will be the final deadline and all applications should be received by this date. We have a great pageant planned with some great prizes. As always, our custom sashes are gorgeous! Our crowns will have a touch of pink-so sweet! Every contestant will receive a Christmas Gift Bag full of goodies including a custom Christmas Ornament. Poeple's Choice money will benefit my mother Teresa Suggs, who is battling cancer.

We had a great turnout for our workshop. The girls had alot of great dresses and other attire for sale. We had great speakers ( ms. Aneisa Young who is a former Miss Georgia Sweet Potato Queen ),makeup specials and congrats to Amanda Spivey and Sydnee Tyson on winning the door prizes. Thanks to everyone who came and to all who helped put it together, like Ms.Jessica, MR.Ski, and for Belinda for coming early to let us get in.We are planning on trying to do this ever so often to help girls anyway we can that love to compete in pageants. Applications are coming in daily. We are planning a great pageant. Our crowns are designed only for Sweet Potato. They are round with marquis stones. Beautiful. Monogrammed sashes, crowning pin, flowers, silver and gold tray and a gift basket running over with lots of prizes. Our judges are from out of state. We will crown seven division queens. They wiil represent us at the Sweet Potato festival on October the 28th. Some age divisions are almost filled. Last year we had to turn down contestants. We do not want to do that this year. It has been confirmed. Our judges this year will be from out of state. One of them judges for the Miss America system. I think this will be a great asset for our contestants. They should not know any one competing so this will be fair for all contestants.

I am getting applications in. You can choose your lineup if I get your application now. Some have already chosen their spot. We are planning a great pageant for this year. I have heard from so many and I would like to thank each one of you for wanting to be apart of our pageant. If you have not received an application, call or email me and one will be on its way. $75.oo for ages 1-16, $125.00 for our Miss. Optionals only $10.00 each. Only $5.OO for door admission. This is a state pageant that is 46years old. Come help us celebrate. You will be one of the main attractions at the festival if you are chosen our Queen. This year are theme is " UNCLE YAM WANTS YOU". Our pageant will be centered around this theme as we remember our soldiers who are fighting to protect us. Our Miss division is already over half full. We are going to have some tough competition. These are some beautiful girls. We are in the process now of starting to prepare for our 50th Sweet potato pageant. All our past miss queens will be invited back for a big reunion. It is only four more years for it. I have three dresses for sale. One is a size 7 short skirt, two piece, seafoam green with key hole back, pearls, stones and more. It is a beautiful dress. I have a Light blue Tiffany ball gown type dress, size two jr. slightly taken in. Worn maybe five times. The Miss Southeast Angel’s Christmas Pageant will be held on Saturday, November 11th, 2006 at the Pearson Elementary School in Pearson. The Supreme Package is only $65.00 if you enter by the early bird deadline! Full round crowns to all winners, beautiful wrap monogrammed sashes, crown pin, trophy, and tote bag! There will be 2 Grand Supreme winners (0-6 and 7-up) and 2 Mini Supreme winners (0-6 and 7-up). The Grand Supreme winner will receive a beautiful crown, and a 5 ½’ trophy. The Mini Supreme winner will receive a beautiful crown, and a 4 ½ ‘trophy. We will also have Peoples Choice. There will be a winner in each age division and 2 Overall Peoples Choice Queen (0-6 and 7-up). The division people’s choice will receive a trophy. The Overall Peoples Choice will receive a 34” trophy and a crown. To be eligible for Overall Peoples you must collect at least $ 50.00. Start collecting votes now, only $1.00 each. If we have at least 50 contestants to enter the Supreme Package by the early bird date, we will change the overall to 0-3, 4-9 & 10-up. So get them applications in before the early bird is gone! Age divisions: (Based on age the day of the pageant. )
Baby 0-23 months Teeny 2-3 yrs old. Tiny 4-5 yrs. old Petite 6-7 yrs. old, Little 8-9 yrs. old, Junior 10-12 yrs. old, Teen 13-16 yrs. old, Young Miss 17-19 yrs., old Miss 20-24 yrs. old Young Ms. 20-29 Ms. 30 & up. Young Miss and Miss can be married, single, divorce, or have children.

Prizes Division queens and supreme queens will receive a beautiful crown, trophy, sash, pin & gift bag. With 10 or more girls in each group cash or bond will be awarded. To receive the money queens must help make and hand out the food baskets. So queens please get with Catherine or TaTina for this. The cash or bond will be awarded at the food basket handout . The only exceptions to this is Baby - Teeny, they can attend if they would like to, we would love to see all the queens there. Cash or bond as follows: Young Ms. & Ms. Queen $50, Young Miss-Miss Queen $100, Junior- Teen $75, Petite-Little $50, Baby-Teeny-Tiny $50.

Supreme Queens There will be 2 supreme queens. The supreme queens will receive division amount. And a custom made dress.

Runner ups will receive a nice trophy and gift. All Baby-Tiny contestants will receive a participation tiara. All optional winners will receive a trophy.

Judging Contestants will compete in gown only. Pageant dresses only! Baby - Tiny should wear short dresses. Petite can wear short or long dress, it’s your choice Little - Ms should wear long dresses. All contestants will be scored on a scale of 1-20.They will be scored on beauty, poise, personality, gown and overall appearance.

Charity Queen The contestant who raises the most money , must be over $50 will win a beautiful tiara, sash, trophy, gift bag, pin, & cash or bond amount will depend on how much is raised. Proceeds from this will go to buy food to feed the needy for Thanksgiving. Start collecting for the needy now. You can sale $20 Thanksgiving greetings, we will put the cards in the food baskets with the names or business cards from the business or person that bought the greetings. There can be up to 4 people in a $20 greeting. One person can buy the $20 greeting or a group that equals $20.

People's Choice There is no entry fee for this category. We will have one people's choice winner. Votes are $1 each. Start collecting for the needy now. Winners will receive a beautiful tiara, trophy, sash, gift bag, & cash or bond amount will depend on how much is raised. You must raise over $50. Proceeds from this will go to buy food to feed the needy for Thanksgiving. You can sale $20 Thanksgiving greetings cards for this as well.

Rehearsal We will NOT have a rehearsal. We will have the basic "T" walk. You can come early to practice if you would like.

Admission Door admission will be $5.00. Children three and under admitted free. All visiting queens will be admitted free and will be recognized during the pageant.

Only the first 25 applications will be accepted for each age division.

Maybe, I am biased... but I would like for everyone to know that the contestants for the Miss Middle Ga. Dream Doll pageant were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen! With 45 gorgeous contestants - the judges really had their work cut out for them and every girl did an awesome job!

Thanks to the contestants, their friends and families, we raised approx. $2,000.00 for the Joanna McAfee Foundation and the Ga. Children's Hospital "Queen for A Day Program".

I would like to congratulate my granddaughter, Sydnee Tyson on winning her age division at the Middle Georgia Dream Doll pageant held in Macon yesterday. I was so proud of her. She also won last weekend in Fitzgerald at Miss Southern Liberty for her division.
I would like to also congratulate Regan Veal on her win at Middle Georgia. She won her age division.
Way to go girls. This was a very well run pageant and the money raised will benefit children with cancer. Thank you Lauren Ray for having a pageant that goes toward a good cause.

The time before and during the pageant is such a stressful time but it is so worth it when you see all of the beautiful girls and there families. I hope to have applications ready pretty soon. I have been getting alot of requests but there are going to be a few changes concerning it and Sweet Potato and I haven't gotten them ready yet. Also I have a son that is getting married on July the 8th and that has been keeping me busy. My husband has been having some heart problems and we had to take him by ambulance to Macon this past week. He had three blockages but they were able to put stints in and he feels alot better. Permanent markdowns have been made on most of my stock of prom and pageant gowns 2005/2006 season. Everything is on sale from 30-50% off! I'm closing the store to work from home exclusively on custom designs. I enjoy doing the custom pageant dresses so much and would rather do these from home. This will also give me more freedom to do tanning and h/m at more pageants. I've been blessed to be open nearly a year and have been blessed with good business but my schedule is too hectic for me to be dedicated to a full time business. This is your chance to get that gown you've been wanting at wholesale price! I'm not going to close until everything is sold so reasonable offers accepted as well. I will sell in bulk also.

If you have your consignment clothing in my store, please make plans to pick it up as I will not be accepting anymore consignment items. I was able to sell many dresses for many people and I was glad to offer that service. Thank you for using me for your consignment needs.

I will continue to post my newest custom designs on my webpage and I will continue to take custom orders. I will also still stock photo protectors and other pageant items and will custom order shoes or gowns the rest of this season if there is a particular gown you need and would like to order. I am just not carrying anymore stock.

Keep those custom orders coming and be sure to tell all your friends about the sale going on.

Plans are underway for Miss Willacoochee Old Fashion Day Pageant schedule for Saturday, June 3rd, 2006 at 3:00 pm at the Willacoochee Elementary School Gym. All participants are encouraged to attend practice, Thursday, June 1st, 2006 @ 6:00 pm at the Willacoochee Elementary School Gym. Deadline for entries is June 1st, 2006. Pageant is for ages 0-19 years old. There will be Beauty, Photogenic, Prettiest Dress, Prettiest Smile, Prettiest Hair, and Peoples Choice in each age division. There will be a Queen and 2 runners up in each age division. You may enter everything except Peoples Choice for $85.00. The Beauty Queen will receive a Full Rhinestone Crown, Trophy, Monogrammed Sash, a gift bag & $50 onstage cash. Photogenic will receive a trophy, Prettiest Hair, Prettiest Smile & Prettiest Dress will receive a Medallion, and Peoples Choice winner will receive a Trophy, Crown & Sash. Hey Everybody! I need your help! The ladies of our church are working to put together a cookbook as a fundraiser for a van for our church so we can pick up children and elderly for church. Our goal is to have 500 recipes in our book. Please, if any of you have some great recipes you'd like to share, email them to me by April 30th! They can be main dishes, desserts, dips, soups, sauces..even craft recipes that involve food! AS MOST OF EVERYONE KNOWS, I'M THE PAEANT DIRECTOR FOR THE MISS WILLACOOCHEE OLD FASHION DAY PAGEANT, AND UNFORTUNLY WE HAD TO POSTPONE THIS PAGEANT TO A LATER DATE. WHAT I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IS DO CONTESTANTS RATHER MORNING (10 AM) MID-DAY (2 PM) OR AFTERNOON PAGEANTS (5 PM)?
