Satisfied with the 4 players taken although the 1st 3 will probably not emerge at AFL level until 07.No problem there as long term thinking has always been on the agenda.Planned to get at least 1 KP but it didnt eventuate.

Natural born Fockers drafted.

#2 Scott Pendlebury..190 cm tall mf with the potential to grow some more & become a J.Brennan type "freak" kp/3rd tall prospect.Cat like agility, excellent skills, exciting to watch & may get blooded in 06 but more likely to emerge in 07.

#4 Xavier Ellis..Classy,silky skills,100% footballer who reads & sets up the play in the Gilbee mould. Will take a few years (stick insect) but will be the type who scores high due to his superb disposal skills. The Fockers # 1 most wanted.

#32 Travis Tuck..Like a race horse the Tuck/Ablett blood lines almost assures the future will be good.Long term prospect unlikely to play in 06.Thought he would go much earlier.

#59 Mathew Stokes..Not in the picture until the draft was well under way.Described by some (on the web) who have seen him play as a socks down Wirrpunda who can play back/forward & midfield.21 y.o, Koori magic, couldn't resist.High stats in the SAFL (70 odd games) & should play a few with Geelong this year.

Just Missed.

Ryder..Aaaaagghhh! For mine he was the best tall in the draft by a street. Not totally convinced by the other 3 (Dowler,Clarke,Kennedy) at all.Maybe i should have nabbed him @ pick 4 & Ellis @ 2.Black n White blood thing!!Was always going to snare 1 of the Pies early selections.

Had a keen interest in 2 KP's Anthony & Edwards @ 32 but Tuck was still free. Also considered Swallow as a potential high stats scorer but the Kangas nabbed him early.

After picking Tuck was hoping Austin Lucy would still be there at 59 but the Magpies swooped early.

how could Ryder be a miss, he went 6, your next pick was 32 don't tell me you thought he was going to do an almighty slip.

I guess your hoping Pendlebury does what J.Brennan only looks as though he can be like, and not what he is currantly. And Gilbee is good and all, but when comparing draftees, aren't you suppose to liken them to stars, not good players??

Ryder was the tall that was going to be taken(pre Draft) until Pendlebury rocketed up the charts and turned the pre draft "plan" into chaos.1 tall + 1 small was the idea @ 2&4.So thats a self inflicted miss.

Forget the lack of hype,Gilbee is a star.Best kick in the AFL.A class above some of the so called guns in my opinion.

Brennan is a freak talent, watch out in 06.Only injuries have stopped him thus far.1st game in 05 (fully fit) he knocked up +100 points & booted 4 goals before being injured just before 3/4 time. The press missed all this as it concentrated on the cry baby Riewoldts injury.

I was hoping to get a key back but there was none worthy of pick 8. Would have loved Kennedy to tumble but didn't happen.

Subsequently, Mitchell Clark was an easy choice. With Johnathon Brown holding CHF for the next 10, it wouldn't surprise to see Clark groomed to replace Leppitsch. I have faith Matthews will knock him into shape and that he may show why most had him number one prior to 2005.

Having taken a tall first up, I was just after the best mid with my second. Shaun Higgins seemed to fit that bill at 14. Taken by the Dogs and their highly respected recruiter Scott Clayton made me pleased with this pick, helped by the fact that The Age had him at six possibly five. Wiz didn't excite me when he ranked him mid 30s but you can't please everyone.

John Anthony was a no-brainer at 36. Have to thank Wiz for this one - his review put it beyond doubt. With him and Maxwell in defence (and my only Magpies) I could have a handy little Collingwood combo down back.

Kristin Thronton was my final pick. Had some worries that this was a girl, but Wiz had him/her at 28 so he/she must go alright.

Four picks to kill in the PSD and that'll be a wrap for another year.
