Subject: Support of Officers of LOCAL # 104

Well, the monday morning quarterbacks have decided to open their mouths regarding our new contract. It's soooooooo easy to sit back and be critical when YOU are not willing to put forth the effort YOURSELF. I have to ask. How many union meetings did you attend to voice your concerns? Let's not forget. If someone is not happy with our contractual obligations for the next 7 years, DON"T LET THE DOORKNOB HIT YA WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YA. Start now. Fill out applications. See if you can do any better in the "private sector". I think the circus is even coming to town soon. Anyone who questions the effort put forth by any of our officers should remove their cranium from their rectum immediately. I'm obviously biased. I work on the same shift as 3 of the 5 officers. I consider myself good friends with them as well. Sometimes we agree, sometimes not. Unlike many within our department, I am able to formulate my own opinions based on the information available to me, no matter who I may work with. There are those amoung us who embrace the opinions of others and regurgitate them as their own. I don't think you could find anyone who is completely happy with our new conract. However, I feel it is the best of a very bad situation and in the years to come, we will all feel fortunate with what we have. No matter how you look at it, the Wilkes-Barre Fire Dept., as we all have come to know it, is gone. We are all embarking upon dangerous times. ACT 47 is designed to work in favor of the city which implements it. It is the politicians that benefit from it and the civil servants that suffer as a result of it. Pick up a phone and call one of your brothers from the Electric City if you have doubts.
