It would have been libel. Slander is spoken. Secondly, Joey Dauben and the Ellis County Press report the real news and that's why people either love them or hate them. The fact is, they simply don't back down and they tell it like it is. I should know...I used to work for them and the only reason I don't now is because they can't afford to add me as a full time reporter. Thirdly, anyone who honestly believes Joey is a bad reporter should take a look at what the Waxahachie Daily Light reports or actually fails to report. A good deal of the time The Ellis County Press is the only newspaper willing to dig deep for stories and tell it like it is. Finally, anyone thinking Joey Dauben is a poor writer needs to work with him for a month. You will see the information he reports is real and accurate. Granted, Joey is still learning and growing as a journalist, he does have talent. Anyone who doesn't believe he does needs to go to J-School (as we in the journalism profession call it) and do this job for themselves.
