Please forgive me. I was trying to reply to the post about LJ and the gypsy curse. I overlooked the "reply" button and thought that if you put the proper message subject in the blank field box that a message would appear under the previously named post. I actually have posted on several forums before, but it's late at night and I was thrown by the fact that you don't have to register to post here. Emilie Rose

  • Hi Emilie Rose and welcome. You might want to go back into the archives on this board. We had some great discussions about Lord John and his marriage to Isobel. I think most of us concluded that Isobel must have had a strong feelings for John. She was well beyond the typical marrying age when he'd finally got around to asking her and she accepted him right away. She may have been waiting for him, they'd known each other all her adult life. John was handsome, from a fine family, wealthy in his own right, and naturally we all think he is brilliant and funny. A good catch, much better than her sister's arranged marriage don't you think? Women didn't think about sex then as we do. I think John WAS indeed an honorable man and did try to be the best husband he could be for her. Even knowing what I know about him..I think I'd have given him a shot! (NT) -- Jane, 21:20:53 01/19/08 Sat
