Remember in Drums when John said "Who is there?" when Rollo was at the door? Claire was thinking he called out "In a surprisingly strong voice." I took that to mean his voice didn't normally hold a tone of command but he could manage when the situation called for it. At least in the movies, most of the Englishmen of his class at the time, used that upper class tone Jeff Woodman does so well. -- LJG Discussion board
