I can't think that John (who was was very young at the time) would have been impressed by Jack or would go out of his way to associate with him at all. I would think that Jack's reputation as a harsh commanding officer (after all his men were afraid of him) would be off putting enough, even if John had no inkling of the sadistic side of Jack's nature. The difference in their ages alone should have put some distance between them. On Jack's side, I can't imagine him risking angering John's brother by trying anything on with him, even if he were very attracted to the pretty young boy. The very thought that Jack might have had access to John would make me sick. -- LJG Discussion board
