Subject: Thanks, Jane - Tom is quite a noble character.
In reply to: Jane 's message, "Since nobody else wanted to do QOTD this week, I thought I'd do the Tom quotes again, just in case some folks didn't get to see them. I threw in a couple new ones so they won't be totally boring. One will be from Succubus and one from Haunted Soldier (non-spoilers) that I thought better helped illustrate the changes in the John and Tom relationship as Tom progressed from the boot cleaning boy, to valet and mother hen, to a sort of young Dr Watson to John's Sherlock Holmes. I think it is fun to watch him change and grow!" on 18:27:59 12/08/07 Sat

  • Oh, goody! I am glad you are posting this particular moment, as it identifies that Tom is indeed Jack's brother--Jack, in love with Trevalyan, another man. For me, this leads to the speculation of just how much Tom knows and understands about his brother, and about John. I often feel that in many ways, Tom is wise beyond his years. • Oh Teddie, I did want to talk about Jack and if Tom knew. John did and I'm pretty sure Jack knew about John too. Jack had been with Trevelyn since he was only 12 years old. John didn't think Trevelyn felt "that way" about Jack. I think John seriously doubted that Trevelyn was even bi-sexual and felt it was foolish for Jack to hope and Jack did finally end up as part of John's household. So it isn't just does Tom know about Jack but do you think Jack told Tom about John? (NT) -- Jane, 14:22:36 12/09/07 Sun
