�No indeed, me lord,� Tom said, fastening the sling with a little more force than strictly necessary. �I�ll just wait for the rag-and-bone man to bring you home, after he picks you up in the street, shall I?�
That made Grey smile, at least.
�I�ll come home on my own two feet, Tom, I promise.�
�Pah,� said Tom.
�Did you say �Pah�?� Grey inquired incredulous.
�Certainly not, me lord.�

I love the "rag and bone man" comment--that was verra brazen of Tom. The upshot of this quote for me is how it illustrates Tom's devotion and affection for John, impertinence notwithstanding. (NT) -- teddie, 05:35:36 12/14/07 Fri
- Exactly! I love how he tightens the sling with more force than is nessecary! How much he cares for Grey is evident. As well, how close they must be for John to allow him to say something like "Pah" with only a passing comment. I do hope there is a happy ending at the end of their relationship.
