Subject: The disheveled man - It's interesting to get John's reaction here. The image that he fixes on is not Percy presented formally but the tussled one. I had a friend who complained that her husband's favorite picture was of her windblown and wrapped in his ugly green parka rather than one in which she is carefully dressed and coifed. Maybe it is the vulnerability of the image. Dressed up and carefully presented means shields are up and the person is on guard. When things are askew, there is more openess and access to the 'real' person.
