Subject: Weel, he's known and understood for who he is in some ways, but Percy does really miss the point on some of the essential John - - the honor, duty, sacrifice pieces of his character. I guess I am willing to accept the love they share as such - - a sort of love - - and in real life we have to accept these kinds of omissions from our lovers/mates all the time, but in the context of these books and their magnificent exploration of soul-possessing love, it is certainly second-rate!
In reply to: Oleander 's message, "And remember, the two sides of a coin. With Jaime, John has the kind of love which is unrequited and unreturned. With Percy, he has a physical and emotional relationship in which John is known and understood for who he is. Burning passion, no. But affection and caring- this is a sort of love too." on 10:40:15 10/24/07 Wed
