While I hope for the best for John, and while there may be some mutual attraction between him and Stephan, I don't think anything will come of it. Honor and duty are the two things that rule John's thinking and actions, and I don't think he would find it honorable to seek the affections of a man w/duties to his own wife and child. Remember, the only times he pursues Jamie are when Jamie is available - not emotionally, of course, but technically (in prison, at Helwater). Even then he feels himself responsible for his "pet criminal," and honor-bound to behave as duty requires.
