Wow, I stand corrected on a number of things but I still don't see how LJG's behavior in the Outlander books jibes with what Herself said about John realizing that Jamie had been raped. Nothing he says in DOA or anywhere else implies to me that he knows Something happened. But as she said, I guess I have to wait for Scottish Prisoner. I still think it would have been great if LJG and BJR's paths had crossed. -- LJG Discussion board

I am guessing that, the fact that the new LJG book was written many years after DG wrote DOA etc that some of the things she includes in the later books may not be exactly what she had in mind when she wrote the first books. Continuity must be an extremely hard thing to accomplish, given the intracasies & timespan of these novels. DG does a wonderful job at tieing things together throughout the books, but, alas, she is only human. I am thinking that maybe Lord John has only just let her know that HE knew about Jamie's rape when she was writing Brotherhood? Either way, I am eagerly awaiting "The Scottish prisoner", for all the juicy details of those Helwater years and the development of their friendship. (NT) -- JulieW, 19:30:44 09/04/07 Tue
- You said that so much more eloquently than I could, but I was thinking the same thing. It's just that we are into the details of these books so much that the discrepancies glare back at us.
