Subject: Help!

I've been dying my hair black for almost 4 years, but now I want it out- I'm getting sick of it. I really don't want to strip it because my hair is close to dead and I'm afraid of my hair falling out. My friend told me if I put dandruff shampoo (head & shoulders/ selsun blue) in dry hair for about 20 minutes it'll get hair color out. I don't think it'd work for me because I've been dying my hair too long. I don't know what to do, please help!!
