My sister also uses Dawn to strip her hair and it does work well for that.However,it is also very drying and probably would be worse for split ends.I would suggest getting a really good deep conditioner.They are usually around three dollars and up.Also maybe a hair mask on a regular basis.They are pretty cheap also.You can buy just one little packet at a time.I have been dying my hair for about twelve years now.Anything that dries it out is not going to help with spilt ends.
