>Charley, I'm afraid I can't help you with your enquiry but I wondered whether you could help me with another matter. My mother has in her posession a medal awarded by the P.D.S.A. to Simon the cat on the Amethyst during the yangtse incident. Of course, its not the Dickin medal but it is numbered and unfortunately without the accompanying ribbon. I shall get the details (the number etc) when I next see her. My connection to the Amethyst is that my father served on her, joining her after her refit following her return from China. He went back out to the far east with her and saw action in Korea. If you're interested I'll contact you again when I've got more details of the medal.
All the best,
Nick Sewell.
