Subject: Silly SUVs

SUVs are a big yawn and folks are letting themselves get fleeced paying top dollar for the lowest technology on the road. Poor handling, poor gas mileage: who could ask for more? The majority of SUVs are built on truck-platforms which are not tied to the body's frame like a car, that's why they roll over more easily. Real car enthusiasts would never buy an SUV. Maybe if they started giving minivans names like Tundra, Tacoma, Highlander, Denali, Navigator, Brokeback Mountain, people who genuinely need to carry around a dozen kids-- rather than the typical little blond SUV driver with her cell phone and one kid-- would start buying more minivans. Don't get me started about Hummers, they're just plain gross, like a bad toupe on a bald guy. And despite all those TV ads telling you otherwise, folks can manage just fine with an actual car, and can even buy stuff at Costco, Ikea and Home Depot, imagine that! (and to those SUV drivers who always say you need the extra room of an SUV, maybe you should think about dieting...)
