In the United States there is a social movement afoot on the conservative side that say we have lost our moral roots, and to some degree I have to concur with their observations. Personally I don't give a rats ass about gay marrage, or abortions (aka pro choice), or undocumentated economic refugees (aka illegal alians), my big beef is a majority of people seem to be seduced by consumerism.

IMHO SUVs are a strong indication that too many people buy into the BS put out by American car companies, that SUVs are great products. The same BS that made germans into nazis, also sells many consumer products like beer
