The caliper part numbers are the same, the brake pads are also the same part number... The rotor's part numbers are different. It's something to check visually.

Pull both off the parts store shelves and compare.
If not available (and you have old parts hanging around) check them also.

It may be one of those things where the lug pattern is different

FYI
(88 mustangs were 4 lug, but the mark vii was 5 lug but the same size rotor)
