Well, this was pretty cool.

I was walking at the end of a trail in Portland. I entered an area
of talk grass.

I suddenly noticed a brownish tan form laying in the grass. At first
I thought it might be a dead dog. Then I noticed it's head was up
and its eye was open. I froze and muttered, "Holy Crap." I stared
blankly, awe struck at the newborn fawn.

Then, at that moment, a loud blat sounded right behind me at my
feet. I turned to see another spotted fawn struggling through the
grass to get away. These guys weren't more than a couple days old. I
watch the fawn struggle for a bit, then he caught his back leg in the
crotch of a fallen tree. He couldn't move.

"Crap", I said. Now, I had to go help this little guy out. I walked
over and he struggled a bit. I picked him up removed his leg from
the trap and cover his eyes. (It calms them a bit).

I noticed he was quite small and skinny. I carried over to his buddy
and gently placed him in the grass. I put his legs under him,
stroked his head.

Then, I looked at his buddy, who still hadn't moved. I patted him on
the head and removed myself from the situation.

That was pretty cool.
