The pine plantations should be great at night! Just FYI, this section of the North Country Trail was recently rerouted pretty substantially. No more road walking, and lots of new terrain including a new bridge over Bigelow Creek. If you're familiar with the old hike, expect 1-2 additional miles of trail between Croton and 40th Street.
